DISCLAIMER: All precautions have been taken to insure that this

RESPONSIBILITY for anything that may happen as a result of using it.
If there is some question as to whether you may have received an
altered version of this program please contact the author and you will
be provided an original version.
LICENSING: The program is the sole property of the author. You are
granted a limited license upon registration. Non-registered users are
granted a trial period of 10 days. at which time they must decide if
this program is of great enough value for them to register.
PHILOSOPHY: The reason for writing this program is purely personal.
I have a strong commitment to early education and that was my primary
concern throughout its development. The major difference between this
and many other children's programs is that it is mandatory that it be
a cooperative effort with both parent and child in order to get the
maximum effect. That is not to say that a child cannot have fun
playing it by him or herself, only that at least initially it is
designed to be guided by the adult.
PROGRAM: This version was written in Turbo Pascal 5.5, ABCs,
numbers, Shapes, Colors and Music each make their own separate
contribution to the overall value of the program. It is important to
keep in mind that much has been intentionally left to the imagination.
This is done because I have learned that when you are to specific you
can actually degrade the confidence of a child. For example;
If you gave a 3 year old a vocabulary test by showing him 50 pictures
of common things you think he should know. The outcome of the test
depends on a lot of things, like, quality of the pictures, his socio-
economic group, time of day, person giving the test, and so on. You
could very likely get a false result. What I have done is purposely
is not create a right answer. That is up to the person who knows the
child best to decide.
PROGRAM SUMMARY: The whole program is intended as a fun tool to
learning. I have decided not to dissect the program but to recommend
that you just play with it. I offer the following suggestion for its
use;
* With the ABCs use the pictures to practice sounds in relation
to letter.
* Sing the ABCs with a finger on the screen.
* With the ABC flash Cards point out Big and little letters.
* With Numbers incorporate the pictures in the Flashcard area with
the numbers itself.
* In all the areas its easy to do the " where's the ?"
I'd guess there are several hundred variations. Some of which would only
work for you and your child. But then that's the point you know your
child best.
FUTURE: There will be future versions. The frequency will depend
on increased programming skills, input from users and demand for these
types of programs. Special note; Input is very important to these
types of programs.
REGISTRATION: A registration form can be printed from within the
Program for which you will receive the Registered version. Or you
can send $15.00 to the below address. Specify disk size so I can
send you the next version which your registration entitles you to.
NOTE: If an educator or educational institution finds a use for ABC's for
Toddlers or would wish to discuss a variation please contact the author.
It is possible to modify this program to meet any specific needs.
